The clothing swap was a success! Thank you so much to both Big Umbrella Studios for the space and to all of our awesome volunteers who pitched in to make the event run smoothly! It was awesome to meet all of you!

We are super excited to see all of your faces tomorrow!

This event has kind of exploded, and we should give you fair warning that we will most likely be over the capacity for our venue. While we rented the biggest and most awesome venue we could afford, it seems like the demand for an event like this is above and beyond what we could have anticipated.

We are asking everyone to please be patient and treat your fellow attendees with respect. If you arrive and the place is packed, please limit your swapping time to one hour. We hope that if everyone swaps in one hour shifts, we will all get an equal chance to mingle and try on hell of cute clothes.

We’re also hoping to raise enough money tomorrow to rent a gigantic space for our next swap, with lots of room for everyone to chat and try on clothes to their hearts’ content. See you soon! <3

The swap is THIS SUNDAY! SF Weekly wrote it up, and we’re at capacity! Heather and Laura are spending Saturday picking up champagne, making playlists, getting change, and doing it to it! Sunday can’t get here fast enough.

Oh, and if you’re not at the swap, you can follow along with the fun on twitter! Hopefully we’ll remember to tweet lots of sexy shots, but we can’t promise we won’t be too drunk on champagne and cupcakes to forget!

I'm hoping to be able to get to the event but am unsure if I can. If I can fit it into my schedule, to be honest, I'm nervous. I don't have many friends, not to mention plus size friends but I'm hoping I can round some up and come on down. If not, I don't know if I can build up the courage to attend by myself. Anywho, on to my question, if I can't make it but would still like to donate clothes to this wonderful cause so someone can be even more fierce than they already are, can I do that? I apologize if you've already answered this question.

You can donate clothing if you like (up to ten pieces) but we hope you’ll feel up to attending! There will probably be a lot of people flying solo like yourself, and we’re working hard to make this a safe and welcoming event for everyone who attends. We’re throwing this event to start building a community in San Francisco for fatties, with people who don’t really know each other coming together in real life. If you are worried about feeling awkward on your own, find one of us (Heather and Laura, we’ll have name tags or funny hats or something to distinguish ourselves,) and we’ll introduce you to some friendly gals.

It’s street parking, which is pretty hit or miss. I wouldn’t say it’s the worst parking in San Francisco, but it’s not the easiest either. I think you will be okay if you plan some extra time to find parking.

I have a very nice one-piece Miracle Suit swimsuit with the tags still on it. I've never worn it and only tried it on with underwear. I'd love to bring it to the swap for someone else to enjoy. Is it ok to bring?

We’re not accepting swim wear, only because the thrift stores to which we are donating any leftover clothes don’t accept them. However, since it’s new with tags still on, maybe you could bring it if you are okay taking it back with you if it doesn’t work for anyone.

While this isn’t really an event set up to handle children, we don’t see why you couldn’t bring your baby. Babies are naturally fat!

We are hoping to have another event in a larger venue, but it will probably be at least a few months before that happens. If we manage to get more donations at the door than we spend on the current swap, (we are paying for all of this out of our own pockets,) we will use that money to make the next one bigger and better!
